Cornerstone is an evangelical , Bible-believing, family church that is committed to the foundational beliefs of orthodox Christianity. Cornerstone is a part of the Presbyterian Church in America, a group of Bible-believing churches, who cooperate with other evangelical denominations, both in Christian fellowship and in ministry activity, throughout the world. The PCA is one of the fastest growing biblically conservative denominations in the United States and is committed to the Bible as the Word of God and to biblical Christianity, which has passed from the Apostle's time down to our own day. OUR HISTORY In 1992, Covenant Life Presbyterian hired a "church planter" and his family to move to Sarasota and to take part of the congregation north to Lakewood Ranch while the mother congregation moved South to Palmer Ranch. The hope was to have two biblically-centered, small group oriented, family churches to reach this culture for Jesus Christ. Our hopes are to divide someday for a third church plant to continue the process!
